Future of the Republican Party
Democrats and liberals still like to call the Republican Party the rich white-mans party but it is far from that. More and more people are realizing it and joining the ranks of the GOP due to its core Conservative beliefs of lower taxes, less government and moral issues. And who is the latest group to join this Conservative fight and growing in numbers? It is African Americans.
Welcome back to the party of Lincoln!!
Quietly they have made inroads in the Republican Party, grabbed the torch of true Conservative principles, begun to speak out and run for public office. Gone are the days when the Democrats held African-American in check with bad policies of the government owing them, shackling them with welfare and no hope of succeeding. It has taken many years but they are coming home and making a positive difference not only in the Republican party but in all of America.
Many don't know this but the South after the Civil war was heavily Republican and run by blacks who were involved in government at most levels. But the concerted effort of Southern white Democrats to unravel all the gains accomplished by the Reconstruction Policies pushed the blacks back into bondage.
Its exciting to see this change take place because some of the most conservative thinkers and politicians are African- Americans. Just to name a few there is former Representative J. C. Watts, Alan Keyes, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, all are brilliant and true Conservatives. But the two that really have my interest is Ohio's Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell running for governor in Ohio and Lynn Swann running for governor of Pennsylvania. Both have a chance to be the first black governors elected in those states and a chance to carry the Conservative agenda even further.
Jumping ahead but have to add this, is the time right for an African-American as president? YES, it just won't be coming from the left side. But until that time comes lets see to it that Ohio's Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell and Lynn Swann get elected as governors, both are true conservatives and both deserve to be elected.

It's trully painful how wrong you ar about the GOP. I can, however, agree with some of your general premise. You see, I am a register republican. I am a conservative Christian who will not be voting for any republican this election cycle. Why? Because recent leadership has lied ans stolen from right under our nose. Mean while they scream morality and Christianity. Not only the increadible corruption but the continuous lies! Like the bs tax cuts! Look at the Ohio budget and you will find 2.2 billion more raised. That sounds like a tax increase and in fact its the second largest tax increase in the history of Ohio! I'm not just angry about more taxes collected because I consider myself a generous person, it is the back alley hidden way they chose to do it. They cut income taxes so they could CAMPAIGN and raised business taxes across the board helping to further harm the Ohio economy. All so they could retain power and do what?!?!?!!? Move on they base's idea's? No because if they wanted to do that they could have done something in the last 8 years when they controlled EVERYTHING! No they did nothing, they couldn't even ban gay marriage, they had to have us put it on the ballot! They want to retain their seats so they could keep ripping us off. That's the only good explanation I've heard. This even boils down to their newest candidates in Blackwell, and in my district Schindel. Blackwell has done nothing except preach about tax cuts (that turn about to just be a lie) and bash Strickland, who is really a good man. Blackwell knew Strickland was a good man and would have loved an issues campaign but knew he couldn't win that battle. The same is true for Schindel. She has allowed those horrible commercials to hit the air waves. I don't like drunk drivers one bit but those commercials make me feel bad for him and his family. When the republican party returns itself to smaller government (aka no need to regulate marriage and create brand new taxes like the CAT tax) and tax cutting (unlike the increase in sales tax) and moral honesty (unlike Noe, Rove and the thousands of dishonest republican businesss leaders who screwed the public) I'll consider voting for them again!
